ADHD Coaching generally consist of: 1. Life Coaching – helping a person identify his goals, values and strengths and then working with him to create a specific plan to reach those goals. 2. Education about ADHD – ADHD coaches rely on the most up to date information about ADHD. They help the client understand his brain and it’s unique differences – neurobiology behind the ADHD. 3. Learning – an ADHD Coach will help his client develop new skills sets and new structures that not only are ADHD appropriate, but also work with the persons’ strengths. 4. Accountability and Follow-up – the relationship between and ADHD Coach and the client is an on-going partnership. The coach supports with the client by empowering her to find her own solutions. The coach also serves an accountability partner and someone to offer support and to celebrate victories with. The coach and client will talk about what went well, what didn’t work and ways to modify or enhance behaviors.
As an ADHD Coach, I believe you have the the answers you need. I simply help you discover solutions and help develop new structures and skills that work for you. People with ADHD are whole, creative, and resourceful people – not people who have something broken or something that needs to be fixed.
